Reading articles from twitter, that I had marked as favorites whenever I found them, has become my habit recently. These one is powerful, talking about a book titled 'Poor Economics'. It contains research results from Prof Abhijit Banerjee from MIT and his partner Esther Duflo, explaining why working as a source of ideas instead of only evaluating ideas has been so successful.
He delivers a very strong message:
" You can only understand people's problems when you start talking to them and stop making assumptions about their lives. "
I have to, I have to write this on. Very important message.
Review about this book on Radio Netherlands Worldwide:

Review about this book on Radio Netherlands Worldwide:
In Poor Economics, Banerjee and Duflo are very clear about the objective of their research. They do not pretend to be looking for the answer to the eradication of poverty. They are only trying to find solutions to the problems at hand.
They do so by leaving the comfortable confines of their offices and getting involved with people working in the field - much as Abhijeet Banerjee did as a child growing up next to one of the biggest slums in Kolkata.
