Le Grand Voyage

Define a journey or voyage
whether it is a recreational one or the one that is changing our life forever
whether it is just few kilometres away or trying to get around the world

For me, a journey is not bounded by distance, nor destination
a voyage is about defining direction and companionship
For Muslim, Le Grand Voyage is Hajj
But I feel, even Hajj is just a simulation of life
Because Allah is the greatest system thinkers in this whole universe, Allah even notice how important to exhibit the lessons in life through a profound example
Life is a grand voyage paved from frequent journeys that we made in our years 
Companionship is temporary
Some journeys with them until we part our way
Then we will find others until we part again
Thus we know nothing is permanent, except the direction itself
The direction towards The Greatest that Allah be pleased with us

Then I remember how Le Grand Voyage made me feel
I watched silently while enjoying the adventure I've dreamt about
----------------------------------------------

The journeys that we made through these years are nothing but to direct ourselves to The One
The voyage that we are going through is like precipitation that turn salt water into fresh water, to purify
It precipitates smoothly with zero visibility
The more challenging the journey takes in the direction toward The One
The more it purifies us,

And when he, the father, never comeback from his wukuf in Arafah
I stare on the screen, blindly
Trying to figure things out
The frustration that the son feel for losing his father
was like telling me the way I react to certain losses in the journey,
whether it was about companion or things
----------------------------------------------

But in the end, there is nothing to fight for except to take control of ourselves
No struggle needed to get those back
The epic battle is always inside
The biggest battle is always within ourselves
Then we need to reconcile and redirect the voyage again
regardless how far we have lulled by temporary things
The direction is always One.

Idola Cilik, sudahkah adil?

Sore ini selepas pergi bersama teman untuk menonton pertandingan tenis, saya menemukan para penghuni kos sedang berkumpul di ruang tengah untuk menyaksikan idola cilik. Saya merasa kangen nonton acara ini, karena dulu saat belum masuk babak 14 besar,saya sering sekali menonton acara ini.  Sebuah ajang bagus untuk pengembangan minat dan bakat anak-anak, sekaligus memberikan inspirasi bagi ribuan pemirsa kecil lainnya yang terlalu bingung dijejali sinetron-monolog-yang-mengumbar-gambar-orang-melotot. Lucu dan menyenangkan sekali pada awalnya, hingga pada sore ini pandangan saya terusik pada sistem eliminasi idola cilik. Menit demi menit saya mencoba menikmati rangkaian babak hasil "result show", tapi yang berputar di kepala saya hanya "kenapa begini? kenapa begitu?" Berdasarkan informasi yang saya kumpulkan dari teman-teman kos yang mendukung Cakka dan Obiet, serta satu orang yang mendukung Irsyad. Saya coba buatkan rangkaiannya. Pledoi para lajang

Sangat mudah untuk menghakimi perempuan-perempuan lajang yang sudah mencapai (bahkan melewati) usia umum untuk berkeluarga. Mereka yang terlihat asyik dengan hidupnya dan dianggap tidak mau bersuami atau menjadi ibu. Sebagian mungkin memang seperti itu, tetapi beberapa umumnya berkebalikan dengan apa yang dituduhkan. Seperti hal nya rezeki, ada jodoh yang ditahan ada yang disegerakan. Sebagian perempuan menjalani hidupnya dengan jodoh yang disegerakan, sebagian lainnya masih ditahan. Suka atau tidak itu sistem yang ada di dunia, dan saya rasa Tuhan punya maksud yang baik atas ini. Menerima kondisi tersebut adalah kewajiban bukan hanya bagi perempuan yang menjalaninya, tapi seluruh manusia.
